Today there are diamonds in the sea
Dancing on the surface, they glisten
trance inducing
not to be captured, bought, or sold
The opposite of jewels I see on people’s necks, fingers, and ears
These are God’s diamonds, belonging to the Caribbean
and can not be explained or replicated
unable to fade or be destroyed
Nature’s formula for beauty is unmatched by man’s designs
and concocted symbols for love and commitment
Confused are we by material objects of desire
Take a look at the diamonds before your eyes
- free, ethereal, and forgiving
The everlasting sparkle
